Art Exhibition and Sale
The 2008 Georgia Peach Festival just keeps getting bigger and better. The latest news is the addition of a Juried Art Exhibition and Market. Application deadline for the exhibition is Wednesday, April 30. Winners will be invited to exhibit their works in the 2009 International Peach Blossom Festival in China.Work submitted for the exhibition must be original and completed within the past three years. All entries to the exhibit will be juried from computer images. Merit Awards will be awarded by juror from the original artwork. Two-dimensional works, excluding mat and frame, should not exceed 50 inches in any direction. Sculpture may have one side exceeding 50 inches in length, but weight should not exceed 150 lbs. The Georgia Peach Festival 2008 Committee reserves the right to reject any artwork due to size and weight limitations. Hanging work must be properly framed and ready for hanging with wire in place. Saw-tooth hangers will not be accepted. Artwork requiring assembly must be delivered and assembled by the artist. At the end of the exhibition, artwork must be disassembled and picked up by the artist.
Spaces for the 2008 Artist Market will be assigned for Friday evening and all day Saturday, June 20-21, in Fort Valley. Setup may begin during the evening hours of Friday, June 20. Artists will need to provide their own chairs, tents, canopies, tables and display boards. Booths are $50, or $75 with electricity. Booth space will be limited to 15x12-feet and all materials must be stored within that space. Refer to the entry rules for additional details.
All proceeds from artist sales will belong to the artist. No commissions will be assessed. Artists are responsible for collecting sales tax and for reporting earnings to the IRS. All merchandise made available for sale will be limited to handcrafted items that have been sculpted, painted, photographed, designed, constructed or otherwise fashioned by the artist or artisan. |
